The Extension Client's Fall Preparation Guide
The Extension Client's Fall Preparation Guide
If you installed extensions in the spring or summer, fall is the season to reassess your care routine. The challenges shift entirely — less humidity and UV, more heat styling and dry indoor air. Here's your complete fall extension prep guide from our Canton team.

Your Fall Extension Routine
Wash frequency: 2x per week remains ideal. Don't drop below once a week even if you're not sweating.
Product swap: replace your lightweight summer leave-in with something slightly more moisturizing as the air gets drier
Brush before bed: always brush gently from ends up before sleeping, then braid loosely. This prevents the overnight tangling that gets worse in dry fall air.
Heat protectant: if you weren't religious about this in summer, fall is when it really matters. Blow drying and curling frequency goes up — protect the wefts every time.
Fall Maintenance Timing
If your last maintenance was in July, you're approaching or past the 6-8 week window. Don't wait until you can feel the rows sitting far from your scalp — that's your signal you've gone too long. Book your fall maintenance now before our September calendar fills.
Thinking About Color? Fall Is Perfect
Many extension clients want to shift their color for fall — warming up their tone, adding dimension, or refreshing the extension color match as the palette changes. We can tint extension wefts slightly or add a toning gloss over your natural hair and extensions simultaneously. Ask your stylist at your next maintenance appointment.
