The Full Process

What is a Curly Cut?

This is a cut that is done dry, keeping your natural curl formations in mind as we take length, take out bulk, and layer. We do not over-texturize or use thinning shears, which prevents added frizz.

How Should I Prep For
the Appointment?

To get an amazing final result like this one, we're going to walk you through what a curly cut appointment looks like.

Here are a few prep tips that help us:

Come in with your curls dry. It doesn't need product in it, if it does- that's ok. It also doesn't need to be freshly washed.

 

Do not have your hair pulled up.

We need to be able to see your natural curls!

The Consultation

When you first come in, we will ask some questions about your desired shape. If certain areas seem to stay heavy such as where your flat and very curly areas are, if certain areas clump together excessively, etc.

The Cut

We will then execute what we discussed and cut the hair with very low tension.

After it is cut, your hair is going to be BIG. It will be pretty picked through at that point, so this is normal.

Styling

We will then shampoo and style your hair. We leave the hair very wet initially. We may or may not brush through the curls depending on their formation, then we'll begin to apply styling products, scrunch the water out, and diffuse.

Final Result

After we get the hair dry, we will double check that everything looks good, snip any pieces that may still need shaping, or if you desire any changes- we make all of those now.

 

We do this so that we can see your curls dry twice.

This insures a great final result!
